What Can You Take on the Flight?

Introduction

So you've booked the flight, arranged the travel and accommodation now all that's left is to get on the plane. It is a good thing to know before arriving at the airport what things you can bring on the plane, and what items are prohibited. In this article we will supply a helpful list of the prohibited items by category, but keep in mind that this information is consistently being altered, with new things being added and other things being removed, so its best to check with your airline closer to your departure time.

History

Certain items are classed as prohibited due to the changing aviation security threats that occur around the world, because of this most countries have a specific list of things that are not to be brought onto the flight. 

Features

In this section i have classed the prohibited items to bring onto the flight in accordance to the TSA website. TSA or transport security administration is an organization that aims to bring protection to the aviation sector. Its important to note that i am only listing items that can not be brought on the actual flight, but some of these items may be allowed in checked luggage.

Sharp objects: Box cutters, ice picks, sharp knives,meat cleavers, Razors, sabers and swords. All these objects are not allowed to be brought as carry on luggage on your flight but they may be stored in checked baggage. However they have to be sheathed or securely wrapped.

Sports goods: baseball bats, bows and arrows ,criket bats, golf clubs, hockey sticks, lacrosse sticks, pool cues, ski poles and spear guns. All these objects may not allowed to be brought with you on the flight they may be stored in checked luggage.

Guns and firearms: ammunition, BB guns, compressed air guns, firearms, flare guns, gun powder, gun lighters,parts of guns, pellet guns, fake guns, and starter pistols. Some of these firearm memorabilia will be allowed in check luggage, you can find this out be contacting your air service.

Tools: Axes, cattle prods, crowbars, hammers, drills and their parts, saws, screwdrivers, wrenches and pliers. Like sharp objects all these tools are allowed into your checked baggage in the flight but they need to be sheathed and securely wrapped.

Martial Arts & Self Defense Items: Billy clubs, black jacks, brass knuckles, kubatons, self defence sprays, martial arts weapons, night sticks, nunchakus, stun guns and throwing stars. These items are not permitted to be in your possession during your flight but they can be stored in checked luggage.

Explosive & Flammable Materials, Disabling Chemicals & Other Dangerous Items: Blasting caps, dynamite, fireworks, flares, hand grenades, plastic explosives, fake explosives, aerosol, fuels, gasoline, gas torches, lighter fluid, torch lighters, strike anywhere matches, flammable paints, turps-paint thinner and realistic fake incendiaries.None of these items are prohibited in the flight both in relation to checked and carry on luggage. 

Disabling Chemicals & Other Dangerous Items: The pool chemical chlorine, Fire extinguishers, liquid bleach, Spill-able Batteries - except those in wheelchairs, spray paint, tear gas and vehicle airbags. None of these items are prohibited in the flight both in relation to checked and carry on luggage.

Miselleous items: gel-type candles, gel shoe inserts, and snow globes.

Tips and comments

Make sure you contact your air line to make sure what is or not permitted and if their is any special instructions to be allowed to have certain objects.
