Who does not love Halloween? Every child as well as adult loves to dress up, but the most interesting part of Halloween is the Halloween home. This article will give you some interesting tips on how to create a Halloween home.

Step 1

The first thing is the exterior of your Halloween home. What you can do is, paint the windows and place black plastic bags. In other windows you can place silhouettes with some lights underneath them. You can even hang a sheet behind some windows and place a fan nearby, so the sheet will move and seem to be a ghostly presence. You can also place a fog machine at the entrance of your house; this will create a spooky effect.

Step 2

The front yard is also a part of the exterior of your Halloween home. You can decorate the lawn with fake tombstones. In order to make fake tombstones, nail together pieces of old, discarded wood and spray them with red paint (symbolizing blood). In your fake graveyard, you can place fake skulls as well.

Step 3

Moving on to the interior, you can make your Halloween home seem scary by placing spider webs on the corners or even doorways. Moving on to the decor of your rooms, you can sort your rooms and bathrooms into various themes. For instance, your bathroom can become a scene from a scary killer movie, with red lights in it and the shower curtain torn to shreds. You can also make one room into a witch's lair by placing cauldrons and brooms in it along with various jars labeled newt's eyes, frog's legs etc. One room can be a mad scientist's lab. Place cardboard boxes with different things in them to seem like human organs, for example, intestines can be represented by spaghetti. Another room can be a vampire’s room, place bottles full of red liquid in the room, and make a coffin out of cardboard and paint it brown. Portraits can also be modified. Attach felt caps or mustaches or even attach fake long eyelashes to various portraits. Fake body parts, doll heads can also be placed around the house. On the fake body parts, place gauze and stiffen it by applying glue.

Step 4

Sound effects are an important part of decorating the Halloween home. Play a CD consisting of scary sounds or screams which will create a chilling impact. Lighting also plays an important part; in some parts of your house you can darken the lighting, in other parts place strips of neon color for an eerie effect.

Step 5

To make something for children, make a tunnel using cardboard or boxes joined together. Throw in some scary spiders, beetles, snakes etc. You can also pop in your head from time to time to scare the children. The Halloween home can also have scary signs pointing the way or saying beware! Caution! Etc. Furthermore, you can also draw red arrows on a black background. Socks can also be used to create bats by placing sawdust in them, but remember to use black socks.
