Introduction

The restaurant business is one of the famous businesses that most people are getting into. People just love to eat and because they are always so preoccupied with work, school, and other stuff, they can’t get themselves to cook at home or even prepare food to take with them for lunch or snacks. With this situation, business-minded people took the advantage and started putting up restaurants.

However, it’s not at all easy to start up such a business especially if you’re new to this kind of venture. You would have to consider what you would serve and if the people would go for it. You would also need to think about a strategic place to put it up, and you would also have to consider all the expenses that you will have to face. Once you’re all set, another important thing that would have to consider is what restaurant equipment you would need.

Storage equipment

It is very important to be organized and to know how to store your kitchen stuff as well as your food and ingredients. Having such restaurant equipment for storage is very important because you wouldn’t want your food and other ingredients to be spoiled or you wouldn’t want to be always running to the market in case your supplies ran out. You would also want your finished product to be kept fresh and stored properly for future consumption or purchase.

Examples of restaurant equipment used for storage are refrigerators, freezers, chillers, food warmers and containers. Refrigerators, freezers, and chillers are used mainly for storing your raw meat and other ingredients that would need to be stored in low temperatures. Chillers can be used for storage of finished goods just such as cakes and pastries. Food warmers are used to store finished goods that need to be kept warm and are ready to be served. Containers are used for your dry ingredients such as spices. They are also used to store other kitchen utensils such as spoons and knives.

Food preparation equipment

This is another piece of helpful restaurant equipment that you must definitely not miss around your kitchen. The kitchen would be the busiest place in the restaurant so cooks would definitely have to do some multitasking so that they can finish a lot of dishes to be served. There are some pieces of restaurant equipment that can be used to lessen the preparation time for food and ingredients that were normally done by hand.

Examples of restaurant equipment used for food preparation are food processors, blenders, mixers, and slicers. Food processors, blenders, and mixers are used for food that are need to be puréed or ground and also for making sure that the food and ingredients are very well mixed, or very finely chopped. Slicers are usually used for meat and vegetable products that need to be sliced evenly.

Cooking equipment

This is the most important piece of restaurant equipment that completes the kitchen. It is very impossible for any restaurant to operate without having even a piece of this equipment. Such equipment makes the end product of the creations in the kitchen.

Examples of restaurant equipment used for cooking are gas stoves, ovens, steamers, and deep fryers. All of them are used to cook food, depending on how you would want to cook them. If you’re preparing a fried dish, then you should cook in a fryer. If you’re preparing steamed dishes, then you can cook in a steamer. If you’re preparing roasted turkey, you should cook in the oven. And if you’re preparing for sautéed dishes, sauces, and etc., you should cook these using the gas stove.
