Manufacturers of the fastest world car have come up with technologies that allow vehicles run at the speed of sound. The following are some of the fastest world cars that modern technology has enabled man to come up with running at record speeds:

Step 1

SSC Ultimate Aero TT


Shelby Super Cars in America built the SSC Aero as a mid-engine sports car. The high performance version; SSC Ultimate Aero TT was limited in production and currently holds the record for the fastest world car reaching speeds of about 413km/h, the equivalent of 257 mph. The speed was attained during some of the road tests on September of 2007 and was verified by the Guinness World Records on October 2007.The car and the Shelby cars companies are owned by Jerod Shelby who has a passion for high performance cars. By 2008 the Ultimate Aero was costing in excess of 62,000 USD as one of the fastest world car.

Buggati Veyron


The Buggati Veyron 16.4 was produced by the Volkswagen Group, subsidiary of Buggati Automobile. It’s renowned as one of the fastest world car with high capacity to accelerate and decorate. It also holds the record as one of the most expensive production car reaching to a price of 1.1 million Euros. It has managed to achieve second top speeds for production cars trailing the SSC Ultimate Aero TT by reaching speeds of 408.47km/h.

Koenigsegg CCX


This is one of the mid-engine roadsters from Sweden manufactured by Koenisegg and powered to comply with US regulations and market demands. It was first unveiled on February 28,2006 at the Geneva Motor Show though its existence had been announced earlier, qualifying as one of the fastest world car.CCX stands for Competition Coupe X with the X commemorating the tenth anniversary of the CC vehicle since 1996.

Saleen S7 Twin-Turbo


The car was manufactured jointly by Saleen of Hidden Creek Industries, Phil Frank and Ray Mallock Ltd as high performance vehicle. The S7 was first produced between 2000 and 2004 featuring V8 engine with 550 hp. In 2005 it as replaced by S7 Twin-Turbo featuring Twin-Turbo system boosting engine power to 750 hp. As one of the fastest world car it managed speeds of 250mph, the equivalent of 402km/h.

McLaren F1


The McLaren F1 was formerly the fastest legal street car produced in the world and held on to the title from 1994 to 2005 making one of the fastest world car to hold such a record for the longest time span. It is the brainchild of the McLaren Automotive subsidiary of British McLaren Group that is owned by McLaren Mercedes Formula One team. The car still holds the record for the fastest world car naturally aspirated.


It as in its time the fastest production car ever built eclipsing the Jaguar XJ220.A standard version of the car reached speeds of 231 mph in 1994 and went on to cling to the record of the fastest world car for a record ten years in row until it was displaced by the Koenisgegg CCR in 2005.
