Blue Book Value
Before listing a car sale on eBay, check the Kelley Blue Book value of the car to help you decide how you will price it. To check the book value, either purchase a Kelley Blue Book from your local auto parts store or book store. You can also visit the Kelley Blue Book website and check the value online. Enter the make, model, year and condition of the vehicle. Check the prices and price your vehicle accordingly. Many sellers will check this value on your car sale before they decide to bid or purchase the vehicle from eBay.
Take several photos for your eBay car sale. Photograph the entire car from a distance. Take pictures of each side, the front and back. If you have special items on the vehicle such as aftermarket wheels, trim, sunroof or spoilers, photograph these items as well. Take pictures of the interior of the car as well as the speedometer. If the car has any flaws, photograph them as well. eBay only allows a couple of pictures, but you can add additional ones for a small fee.
Buy It Now VS. Bidding
Choose if you want to have the Buy It Now option on the auction listing or just allow users to bid on the car sale. If you choose the Buy It Now option, eBay users will have the option to buy the vehicle for the asking price without bidding. Bidding is still an option and if the bid passes the Buy It Now price, the Buy It Now option will disappear and interested parties can continue to bid on the car sale until the auction has ended. If you choose the auction option, you can set a reserve price for the vehicle. If the bid does not reach the reserve, the car will not be sold.
Write a description for the car sale. The description should include basic and specific information about the car. List the make, model and year of the vehicle as well as an extra's or special trim packages it includes. If there are any cosmetic flaws or problems with the car, be sure to list them as well. Include the mileage on the vehicle and if the title is clear.
Decide if you are willing to ship or deliver the car and list it in the car sale details. Some freight companies will ship vehicles for a fee. You can get a shipping estimate and include this in the shipping details. If the buyer will be responsible for the shipping, make sure to make note of it in the listing. If you are willing to deliver the car for a small fee, make note of this information as well.
