Introduction

There are various writers who are experts in reviewing books and they credit a person for his work . The fact of the matter is that they are not the original writers but what they give are the opinions on different reports on the books. When this is done, then the original owner of the book has to receive credit on the report from the user.

Step 1

Though many authors own the copyright to their work , plagiarism can lead to prosecutions and hence discredit a person. The most commonly used method to give credit a to the author is the use of modern language association style (MLA). This method is mainly used in writing papers that are associated with art subjects and the humanity courses. Most of the schools will allow the students to use this method while presenting their book reports after the reviews.

Step 2

The advantage of this citation on report is that it gives the students writing the report an easier job when it comes to referring to sources of information in any page that follows the system of text parenthesis. The following procedure may be used when credit an author of the book.

Step 3

First, to to credit a person, the writer has to introduce the original author of the book you are writing about. This implies that the reader has to be told well in advance that book you are reporting is not your original work but belongs to another writer. The name is given with the relevant title to that name in a byline. If the work you are reporting has different authors, then you have to mention them all at the start of the report. This will credit a person's work.

Step 4

The most important facts to be reported are found in the body of the book . Whenever you take a phrase deep inside the book, which is credit a person has, you have to paraphrase the important quotes that you will be using. This can be comfortably done by telling the reader that credited to a specific author and the exact location of the quotes i.e. the page number. The name can appear after the quotes or inside the parenthesis and hence you credit an author.

Step 5

Since you credit an auther to a number of works to their credit, then the report should cite some of the other works that have already been done. To make the report and  the credit more standing, use the titles that are short and precise. The title should be placed under parenthesis with the quotes that credit an author along the page numbers.

Step 6

Before finishing your report citation, remember to write the cited works on the page,to fully credit a person owning it. If you are dealing with different books which have been written by the same author, make the entry for each book that you mention within your report. Include the title of the book in the report and the name of the author, when the actual publication took place and the location where that report or book was published. The name of the publisher is also an important aspect to talk about in your report as you credit an auther.

Step 7

When crediting books in your reports, you must ensure that they are done correctly to avoid being accused of plagiarism that will result in an action against you. Some authors will require one to ask for permission before their works are used to credit an author for educational purposes of research thesis.
