Introduction

Surgeries are a procedure in which the protective covering of the skin is breached to fix problems inside the body with the help of qualified and experienced doctors, specialized in surgical procedures. Surgeries can be due to any problem. Most of the time it is done to fix any injury that has damaged the outer skin area or any internal organ. Some surgical procedures are carried out due to dome defect or disease inside the body as well, which has damaged the body so much that either it has to be fixed again or removed through surgery. Many of the surgeries are more because of the first reason than the last.

Why Males?

Surgery due to injury has chances to occur equally in males and females however, some of the surgery male procedures are more specific for men only as those problems cannot occur in women. Some of the surgical needs are specific to men because of their different hormonal balances and reproductive systems. In most cases the surgeries involve problems regarding the reproductive systems of males while other surgery male procedure may also have reasons regarding cosmetic problems. On average surgery male operations are more likely to occur than females because of the risks.

Surgery male procedures regarding the reproductive system are more common firstly because of the complexity of the reproductive system as it being in combination with the excretory system and secondly it involves a large number of glands that are present around the testes of a male. Any injury or problem in these glands can lead to complications and eventually surgery male operations. Not to mention the whole area occupied by the reproductive system is more prone to injury as it is outside the body and not protected by any muscle mass or bones like every other essential organs of the body.

Common procedures

Surgery male procedures vary widely according to the area damaged or infected. The most common problem that requires surgeries in males is inguinal hernia which is located in the groin. Similarly the most frequent surgery male requiring procedure which is of very serious nature is the prostate surgery. The prostate gland present in the abdominal area gets enlarged and can lead to prostate cancer as well. This enlarged prostate gland can also cause urine retention in bladder resulting in bladder stones that may also require surgery for removal. Another male surgery procedure is that of hydrocele removal, which involves the removal of a sac-like structure that is filled with fluid and is present in the scrotum. After prostate, comes one major surgical procedure known as treatment of varicocele. This involves the cluster of varicose veins that are present surrounding the vas. Any enlargement in them can block the passage of sperms out of the body and thus needs a removal or reduction of size through surgery. Sometimes, for birth control reasons as the varicocele treatment is taken to reduce sperm count. Other examples of surgeries are testicular torsion repair, retrograde ejaculation and penis enlargement.
