You get to discover stuff and most importantly get to invent stuff. A biotechnologist can actually make a new organism altogether genetic engineering. If your research goes well and you do discover something, you'll be a star and if your research goes wrong nobody would say anything as research can go wrong. You would be paid well for just using your brain and presenting ideas and you wouldn't have to sit behind a same old desk each and every day as lab work requires a lot of walking around. Also being a scientist you would have to travel a lot. Since in science new discoveries are constantly being made and research is going all over the world, you would have to attend conferences and seminars held on new discoveries made. And of course all the travelling will be free.

You would get to meet new and great people on these conferences as well. You would get acquainted with new techniques and methods very often and you would never stop learning. In scientist jobs you are your own boss when it comes to all the research. There is no one to be afraid of and you handle your own work. At the end, being a scientist you would enjoy the tag of "smart" on you that you would get by people because, of course scientists are considered genius and smart by everyone. And who wouldn't enjoy being called smart anyway?
