Introduction

Employers who want to broadcast that the company has job openings place advertisements all over the Internet. Traditionally, job seekers could look in the local newspaper classifieds or contact a few companies in the area to ask if they have any vacancies. Today, with the ubiquity of Internet access, companies are placing job listings on www.Jobs. Com, as well as many other job aggregating sites.

People who are overwhelmed who are overwhelmed by the so many job searching options on the Internet commonly wish there was one single website that they could visit, instead of having to remember or bookmark the address to several different sites. At first glance, www.Jobs. Com looks like that type of site that brings all available job listings together on the Web. However, that is almost impossible to do. But many visitors to the site might be surprised to know that www.Jobs. Com is affiliated with another major job listing website.

Step 1

Navigate to the www.Jobs. Com home page. You can perform nearly any job search directly from the home page. Many people start searching my city and state. Other options on the www.Jobs. Com website include searching by category and title. For example, if you are an accountant, you might want to do so a broader search of the business category. Also, you can search by a company's name if you already have an employer in mind, but you are just not sure if they are hiring.

Step 2

Click on the Popular Keywords link at the bottom of the www.Jobs. Com home page. From this list you can use job search methods that are most in use by other people who are using the www.Jobs. Com website to look for listings. For example, one of the busiest keyword search combinations is management jobs. Even if you are not a manager or never had management experience, it's worth a shot to take a look at all of the current openings in this area. Sometimes job seekers have to explore jobs outside of their expertise and comfort zone, in order to find new employment. In many cases, people are glad they did go in a new direction.

Step 3

Select the Advanced Search at the bottom of the home page on www.Jobs. Com. Here you have the traditional job listing search features that help you target your search. For example, if you work in an industry that is usually classified by a broad name, such as management, you can narrow that down to maybe restaurant management or office management.

Step 4

Click on the Post A Resume link at the top of the www.Jobs. Com home page. This actually takes you to the Monster.com website. You can use this site's tools to create a digital resume that gets employers' attention.

Step 5

Select the Career Tools link at the top of the www.Jobs. Com home page. This also takes you to career advice resources and tools to help you plan your career over the long-term. For example, you can find information about salaries in your field, so that you know what is reasonable and what is not, as you browse through wage information in job descriptions.
