How To Use Jobs .net

Introduction

The Jobs .Net website looks very similar to the status quo for other job aggregation websites just based on visiting the home page. Hiring employers can post vacant job openings for all the world to see. Job seekers can then use tools on the Web page to filter or narrow down potentially thousands of job listings, to only a few that apply to his or her skill set. However, as users click through the various links on the website, they will come to discover there Jobs .Net has affiliations and close ties with other major online job aggregators. Although many employment websites compete with each other for getting the most vistors, it appears that the developers of Jobs .Net is leveraging the benefits of partnering with other companies who want to help jobs seekers find work.

Step 1

Click the Find Jobs link at the top of the Jobs .Net website. This takes you to Web page where you can find jobs by location. You can click on a state on the map. Alternatively, you can type in the name of the city and state where you want to find job openings. Add some keywords that are related to the job title of interest or professional skill set.

Step 2

Expand your job search across the entire state using Jobs .Net. For example, put yourself in the shoes of a carpenter looking for work in a housing industry that is lacking jobs in their  local town. Broadening your search may open up potentially hundreds to thousands of new job opportunities, providing you have reliable transportation.

Also, don't let a job listing that you are very interested in, discourage you from applying just because the location is out of your commute. In many cases, companies ask job seekers to visit a regional or national headquarters to go through the application and interview process. Then, after a few weeks of on-site training at the headquarters, the new hire can work at another branch or location that is closer to home.

Step 3

Select the Post A Resume link on the Jobs .Net website. Notice that your Internet browser redirects to the CareerBuilder.com domain. This is one way in which the developers of Jobs .Net have used partnership with other major job aggregators to enhance the usability of the website.

CareerBuilder has a platform that guides users on how to create a winning resume that oftentimes is a determining factor in finding new employment. In fact, many employers will not review an application without a resume. The human resources industry even has its own niche of software called Applicant Tracking System, that stores and analyzes resumes from hundreds and maybe even thousands of applicants.

Step 4

Create a user account for the CareerBuilder.com website. This may not work on the Jobs .Net website. After you have a user name and password established you can secure your resume and return to update and change it as necessary. You can even use this resume to apply for online jobs.

Step 5

Step 5

Click on both the Career Advice and the Resources links, if you need more general information before applying to any of the listings on Jobs .Net. Here again, some of these articles link back to CareerBuilder, but that should give readers assurances that the advice has been vetted by employment experts and other reputable sources.
