When it comes to football, then it becomes important to talk about the top football teams in the world. No other sport has gotten such fame in the world as acquired by football. The competition between top football teams has always been very tough, as they are always fighting for the top ranking. However, some of the top ranking football teams are described below.
1. Manchester United – Manchester United was founded in 1878, and since that time, have realized consistent growth in the skills and the popularity of their team. The last 8 years of the club have been fabulous, as they have signed many great players like Rio Ferdinand and Fabien Barthez. Both of these players played an important role in the wins of Manchester United in the early part of this century.
2. Barcelona – Obviously, if someone talks about the top football teams, then the name of Barcelona automatically pops in the mind. In November, 1899, this club was founded by Hans Gamper, and since then, the club has known nothing except growing in any situation. Barcelona is also known as Barca. The interesting thing about Barcelona is that it has experienced both things; success and failure. Eighteen titles of the Spanish league have been won by the club, apart from the two European Cups that were won in 1992 and 2006.
3. Real Madrid – It was 1900’s when Real Madrid came into being, who knew this team could become the top football team in the world. The best thing about Real Madrid is that it was established as a strong football club in Spain very quickly. This team has always seen good growth, and that is why many great players have always been attracted towards the club. In past decade some of the best players that became part of Real Madrid were Ronaldo and Beckham. This top football team has won 9 European Cups, 3 International Cups and 1 European Super Cup as well.
4. Chelsea – The foundation of Chelsea was in 1905. The interesting thing is that this club was honored to play their first game officially in the Football League, in which only top football teams could take part. Chelsea has won championships in 2005 and 2006 by defeating Liverpool and Manchester United. This has been done by very few teams in football history.
5. Inter Milan – Inter Milan was founded in 1908 by a group of people that were actually rebels. They used to call themselves the Football Club Internazionale Milano. In 1910, Inter Milan won its first Italian League title and their whole history is full of big successes. No doubt, they really deserve the spot in top football teams ranking at number 6 Arsenal. The club was formed in 1885 and the name was Woolrich at that time. However, they couldn’t play their first match till 1893. This club has played its games for 93 years in Highbury, and then the team moved to the Emirates in 1996. They have many big titles on the name of the team as well.
