What You Should Know About West Football

Introduction

West football (American football) is famous all over the world. However, the important thing about football is not the money that is invested in the games, but the players that make the game remarkable.

 

History of west fooball

Late Charles Martin (Too Mean): He used to play defensive tackle from UWA that was known as Livingston University at that time. The period in which he represented the University was 1980-1982. His couch Joe D'Alessandris gave an interview recently to Chicago Tribune stating that, Martin was a remarkable athlete who was always willing to go at full speed all the time. According to him, it will be unfair if we remembered Charles Martin in any other way.

Buddy Nix: From 1957 to 1961, Buddy Nix played linebacker and full back for West Alabama. He earned the All-Conference twice during this period making himself a proud member of west football region. In 1961, he started his coaching career in the University of Alabama when he was coaching the National Championship team. He moved on after that and started coaching in Alabama and Georgia high school ranks till 1969.

Jack Jones: Jack Jones is a remarkable and unforgettable name in the history of west football. He was an al round athlete who could fit into football, baseball and basketball as well. From 1947 to 1951, he played as a basketball, baseball and football player for West Alabama. He received many athletic honors during his career. His stunning performance in every part of game led him to be selected for the 1951's Super Bowl where he represented south football team.

Reverend Ken Hutcherson (The Hutch): He played as a linebacker for University of West Alabama. The period of his serving was from 1970 to 1973. He has the honor to be named as All-American during his representation from junior and Senior both teams. In 1972, he was the NAIA National Player of the week. He got this reward for making 21 tackles against Southern Seasons. He was also named as Defensive Player of the Year in 1972.

Samuels: Samuels is another big name in the history of west football seasons. After completing his career in Livingston, he left his name in Red and White record books for the rest of the world. He has the record to carry the ball till 185 yards against Albany State and 182 yards against the Jacksonville State. He made both these records in 1992. He is also a part of the 7th longest pass play in west football school history. This was also done by him in 1992.

Stanley King: He played west foot-ball from 1976 to 1978 from West Alabama. He got the award of best defensive player (Gulf South Conference) in 1975. He played three seasons in UWA and made 215 solo tackles, 106 were assist tackles and made 15 interceptions from defense back position as well.
