Notre Dame Football, Trick Plays, And Angioplasty

The University of Notre Dame is an educational institution located in Indiana, United States. The University’s football team was founded in 1887 and it was declared by Forbes as one of the most valuable college football teams in 2007. The Notre Dame football team generates yearly enough revenue to operate as an independent institution. A large amount of the team’s profit is retained for the academic use on the university, which is a rare thing in our days.

Ever team has its ups and downs

The Notre Dame football team has a lot of fans, and they support it through its ups and downs. Even if in 2007 the team was declared by Forbes the most valuable in college football, 2007 was the year when it had the most losses. After spending 5 years coaching the Notre Dame football team and leading the players to 2 Bowl Championship Series bowl games, Charlie Weis was fired in 2009 after losing 4 consecutive games.

Big hopes for the new coach

Every fan wants to see the Notre dame football team winning; however, there are games when defeats are inevitable because the opponents have the strength of pulling awesome winning strategies, just like in the game played against Michigan State. Coach Mark Dantonio deserves respect for winning the game with a fake field goal in overtime. Everyone was surprised by the final game play, especially because he didn’t seem the kind of coach to take that kind of chance. Dantonia seemed very confident and in control.

The Notre Dame football team players and staff seemed like they were under a spell. No one was expecting the fake field goal. It looked like everyone forgot the simple, common strategies as if the modern game became extremely sophisticated. The defensive players were spectators, probably thinking they already won the game. After winning the game against the Notre Dame football team, Coach Mark Dantonio had bigger issues. He was in the hospital having heart angioplasty that saved his life.

In a few hours, he won a terrific game using a fantastic game strategy and saved his life. Being a professional former athlete, Dantonio was smart enough not to play with the pain and rushed to the hospital. All his players suffered injuries, bringing them a lot of pain, but only one really suffered. College football games have entertainment purposes making everyone escape their daily grind. Even so, on the field and off the field, tragedies have a way of intruding.

On and off the field tragedies affect everyone

Before the game between the Notre Dame football team and Michigan State, another tragedy occurred. After throwing a touchdown, a quarterback from a Texas high school had a fatal seizure. In the world of sports, no one can escape tragedies, regardless of their age. On the other hand, it was very interesting that there was little national media coverage for Dantonio’s winning play and medical procedure. There were some articles related to the game and the coaching stress, but that was it. Perhaps it’s best if we don’t know more about medical issues occurring to players or coaches because they can leave us speechless.
