Introduction

A DVR, or a digital video recorder, is a consumer device that helps record video in a digital format on a memory stick. Most modern television setup boxes in the United States come with a pre-installed DVR device in it. The DVR helps you pause and record live television, whether it is your favorite comedy or a TV football game. The DVR devices also let you program a specific time to start the recording.

Step 1

Once you set that up, you do not have to be near the TV or the DVR when the program starts. The recording will start automatically at the specified time. You may also program the DVR to record a particular program every day at a specific time. The DVR will keep recording the programs on the specified channel every day until the place in the memory stick is full. While most DVRs can record several hours’ worth of program, you must delete some old recordings to create space in the memory stick.

Step 2

Football is arguably the most popular sport played in the United States. The most common forms of the game include high school football, college football and professional football conducted by the National Football League. While some local television channels may telecast high school football, ESPN and other national channels such as NBC and CBS telecast the more professional college and NFL games. You do not have to be near your television nor do you have to leave the television on. Remember to leave the DVR on though. Also make sure you have enough space on your DVR memory.
