Introduction

Football is one of the most physically aggressive games in sports. The only two sports Rugby and Football are where the objective is achieved by hitting or tackling another player to the ground. Ice hockey is also another sport where players tend to ram into each other without it being called a foul. Any game that allows tackling and hitting is bound to produce large number of injuries as well as fights. Both American Football and international football are physically aggressive games. In Football it might not be as violent but a considerable amount of aggression is allowed without any fouls. These acts of aggression in all these games not only add injury to the players involved but there have been times where these acts resulted in fights football.

History

Football, both kinds, is one of the most popular and oldest games in the world. They both came around the time of late 19th century and since then they have evolved into one of the biggest in the sporting world. Since the game rules were made official and the physicality of the game had been made official there have always been moments where the aggression of one would lead to an injury or fights football.

Features

One of the down sides of games like these is that sometimes some tackle of hit may be a legal act but there are times when these tackles may not be legal and this can cause anger in the targeted players resulting in fights football. Because the move made by the player disrupted a good chance of goal, this would infuriate the other. Sometimes a tackle can be entirely unfair on the tackler’s behalf and this would also result in a fight. But what causes these fights more often than so, are the taunting remarks or comments that players give each other during the game to deliberately make the other angry. Sometimes these remarks can be highly unprofessional and unethical for any human being let alone a football player. A famous incident where Zinadine Zidane head butts Marco Materazzi as a reply to his racially discriminating taunts during the World Cup final. This made the referees penalize Zidane and give him a red card, sending him out in his last match. Another famous fights football, involving interestingly enough another Italian, Gennaro Gattuso pushed around Tottenham’s coach Joe Jordan during the match. Gattuso was seen holding Jordan by the neck after a taunt that angered the Italian. Fights football has always been something that has affected the smoothness of the game being played. Sometimes there are fights football where referees are involved because players get infuriated on a wrong decision given by one of them and there have been incidents where players and referees have ended up in fights football. There are cases where spectators in the stand end up in brawl over comments about the club they support.
