Navigating the Calgary Airport

Introduction

Calgary airport is a bustling and busy airport in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In this article we will explore the layout of the Calgary Airport. 

History

The Calgary airport has four concourses A, B, C and D. Each of the featured airlines at this airport correspond to a certain terminal concourse, as depicted below.

Concourse A: Air Canada, Air Canada Express and Central Mountain Air.

Concourse B: Air Canada

Concourse C: Air Canada,Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines , U.S. Airways and WestJet. 

Concourse D: Air North, Air Transat, British Airways, Edelweiss Air, KLM, Sunwing Airlines, Thomas Cook and WestJet.

The airport is split into three levels, Level 1; Arrivals, Level 2; departures and Level 3; Mezzanine. On each of these levels there a variety of dining, entertainment and shopping facilities. In this next section we will explore some of these.

 

Features

Level one; There are three eating/drinking places in this region. These are Jugo Juice,  a premium fresh juice and smoothie bar, Starbucks, where you can refresh with a caffeinated beverage whilst soaking in the beautiful Calgary views and lastly  Tim Horton's which is infamous for its Fresh baked products. There are also three shopping facilities on this level, two Mac's Convenience Stores, a place to fulfill a variety of needs (toothbrush, snacks and reading materials), and Skyway Liquor. There is a large number of additional services and entertainment avenues on the arrival level,   Shiatsu Massage Chairs to remove any tension and induce pure relaxation, Travelex, Lost and Found, Luggage Storage, and Paging. 

Level two; This level has a wider range of eating establishment in existence, twenty in total. These include Starbucks, Jugo Juice, Chillies, which exhibits iconic American grilled food, The Great Canadian Bagel that offers  an assortment of fresh bagel sandwiches for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Subway and Bubbles which serves trendy Tapas and refreshing wine. On the shopping front their are a wide assortment of shops to explore. A Touch of Petals, a place that supplies beautiful flowers and thoughtful gifts, Artizan which has a host of delectable jewelry and accessories, Card sharks for any card needs, Duty Free Shop by Nuance, has a range of cheap fragrances, a wide variety of popular liquor brands, and tobacco products. The uniquely named FanAttic is a shop that aims to meet any passengers Canadian Hockey fan needs, with a range of jerseys, hats, t-shirts, ladies' clothing, kids' wear and novelty items. The other services preset on this level at the Calgary airport are Cut and Jet Hair Salon, a full service salon that offers haircuts,colouring, perms and finishing services, Kids and adults alike can entertain themselves at the Flippers, an arcade that is equipped with the latest video games and pinball machines. Additionally the Calgary airport has the remaining services on the Departure level, Franklin's Shoe Shine, OraOxygen Wellness Spa, Travelex Worldwide Money and The UPS Store. 

The last floor of the Calgary airport is the Mezzanine, which has a fully equipped foodcourt. The food services are immese, theu inlucde, A & W, Cheers, Dairy Queen Orange Julius, Edo, Manchu Wok, Sbarro, Second Cup, Subway, Swiss Chalet Express and Taco Time. This level at the Calgary airport also has Spaceport, Wellpoint Medical Clinic and Calgary International Airport Chapel. 

Tips and comments

The mentioned food, shops, and amenities are both located pre-security and after. Thus there will be an ample supply of resources for all travellers regardless of location.
