Introduction

According to the latest statistics, Sydney is the most populous city in Australia. The city is known worldwide for the fact that there are many events organized here throughout the year, like international sporting events, Opera events and many more. Sydney Opera is an Australian symbol and thousands of people gather to attend the shows. Being such a busy city, the Sydney airport gets crowded almost all year round and parking spaces become more difficult to find.

Overview of Sydney Airport

Sydney airport is located in the suburb of Mascot. It serves various hubs and it includes three runways. Being a big airport it has a furrow organization and usually things go smooth without many incidents. Sydney airport includes three passenger terminals, one of them being an international terminal, separated by the others by a runway. If you want to buy a connecting flight ticket through the Sydney airport, you should reserve a longer time for transfer because sometimes it gets really crowded.

It usually takes one hour and fifteen minutes to get around the airport. Sydney airport provides paid services between terminals: 1.5 AUD from one terminal to another. There are airlines that have connection flights through this airport as well as direct flights; therefore, the airport tends to be busy at all times, and not only for people, but for transportation vehicles as well.

Parking at Sydney airport

There are many people that need a parking space when arriving at the airport. When all terminals are open, the parking spaces are really hard to find; however, the parking system was built in such a manner to meet the demands for both premium and budget demands. Plus, there are also special parking places for people with disabilities. To be sure that these parking spaces aren’t occupied by other people, the Sydney airport committee takes safety measures by checking these on a regularly basis. Even more, if someone is picking up a disabled person, the driver can stop for a while on those places, until he picks up that person up; however, that shouldn’t take longer than a few minutes.

Parking spaces distribution

As mentioned before, there are two domestic terminals and one international terminal. This means that the number of parking spaces for the domestic ones is bigger than for the latter. Even more, people that go through the first two have priority in front of the latter one. Here is how parking spaces are distributed for the 3 terminals: for the international terminal, T1 – you can find 13 parking spaces dedicated to disabled people and other 12 places on the south side; 43 spaces are found near the lifts on the 2nd level; 13 parking spaces are near level 3 and 17 places on level 6. For the domestic terminal, T2 – it includes three dedicated parking spaces for the departures and two for the arrivals. Lately two new spaces for arrivals have opened, for the public pick-up. At the other domestic terminal, T3, there are two dedicated parking spaces at the departure level and the rest are the same as the previous one.
