Introduction

The Murcia San Javier Airport is both a civilian passenger and military air based aiport. It is based in san Javier south of Spain and it is ran and operated basically by the Spain airport authority.

Murcia airport can receive many types of aircrafts such as the Boeing 757 or 767.luckly enough the airport has an ambulance and has been declared fire category 5 by the Spain airport authority. Over the last few years Murcia airport has expanded its wing and can now accommodate more passengers approximately the number of passengers from about 100000 to over a million passengers in about ten years. This was due to them expanding their rounds and offering their services at a very cheap price.

History

In 2010 unfortunately the airport announced that it would have to drop about seven of their of its nine routes this was due to luck of customers and the airport blamed this solely to the government for lack of promoting tourism in the country and the worst part was that during the winter it will only operate in two of its routes and which will also be very minimal but the airport did not say when the other routes will become functional again.

Sadly in November 2012 the minister of public works and Secretary of State for Transport signed the official agreement that effectively closes the airport to commercial traffic in summer 2012.this agreement was made despite the fact that the airport had used over 60 million pounds for the construction of a new runway and other commercial terminal buildings and this agreement came in to being due to the fact that there was the development of the new International airport of the region of Murcia in Corvera. but despite the planned closure easy jet has argued to open a base in Murcia operating with about two aircrafts during the same time as the closure.(summer 2012)

Features

The airport happens to have a home area next to the airport and hence if you fly out to will have an ample area I which you can park and leave your car at a very cheap price. The airport also offers a car hire service so if come around and what to go out for sight seeing then car hiring will be very easy for you. There are also available taxis on the ground in the airport and since bus transport in Spain is very poor that is only three buses a day then it is worth using a bus to and from the airport the taxi are very available and at affordable prices.

Some of the airlines in the airport include Bmibaby, Easy jet, Iberia, et2.com, Norwegian air shuttle, Ryan air
