Shops, hotels and restaurants surround the plaza, and the entire area is quite often blocked to traffic, so it often becomes fairly crowded. Still, the area is an enjoyable place for a simple, leisurely walk chiefly on Sunday evenings. At this time, the locals meet to take pleasure in the gratis open-air concerts. It makes the Cozumel vacations worth its price. The place is full of jewelry boutiques, token shops, departmental stores as well as restaurants.
