History
Chile is situated in South America. Chile was founded on the 18th of September, 1810. Chile is most famous for earthquakes; particularly the most intense earthquake that occurred on the 22nd of May, 1960. This earthquake had a rating of 9.5 on the Richter scale. The earthquake brought serious destruction and is called the 1960 Valdivia Earthquake. However, this is not something to be scared about. The three most beautiful cities in Chile are Santiago, Valparaiso, and Vina del Mar. Santiago is largest city in Chile, and is also its capital. Valparaiso is the capital of the Valparaiso province. Vina del Mar means “Vineyard by the Sea” and is Chile’s greatest tourist site. When on your Santiago vacations, the first place to start from is the Cerro San Cristobal. Cerro San Cristobal is a hill in Santiago that gives you an incredible view of the city. The best time to be at Cerro San Cristobal is during sunset. You will feel your heart melt as you see the day turn to night; an amazing view. Another place to visit is La Chascona; a house owned by Pablo Neruda. It is said to hold a lot of secrets and was designed by the poet himself. No fan of Pablo Neruda can leave without visiting La Chascona. Apart from several museums and other historic places, Santiago also offers sports like skiing and snowboarding, and activities like salsa dancing, and delicious food like sushi.

Don’t let your Santiago vacations end in Santiago itself. If you are visiting Chile for the first time, you must visit other cities as well. Do check out Vina del Mar, especially because it has a flower clock, which is made entirely of leaves and plants. Your adventure starts right outside your comfort zone.
