This villa was later sold to a Napoleonic politician Giambattista Sommariva. The Villa d’Este was built in 1568 by Tolomeo Gallio who was a native of that time. In 1826, a motorized service was launched and since 1952, is run under the government. Lake Como is just an hour away from the fashion capital of Italy, Milan. It has one of the most beautiful views on the banks of the lake called the Piazza Cavour. Cathedrals here are known for their architectural styles. As you travel towards north, you will only be able to see the island. It is also called the most curious island on earth because of the forest and the silvery water of the lake.
