This town was also settled upon by the Native American group, the Powhatan Confederacy. Because there is so much history behind Williamsburg, Virginia, a colonial area was restored a made into a historic town, where you can visit blacksmiths, old toy shops, the Governors mansion, and so much more. You can even dine at one of the delicious taverns that serves authentic food from the 18th century. Williamsburg not only has their colonial section to offer visits, but much more as well.

The overall best times for Williamsburg vacations are during the warm weather months. Virginia usually gets warm around April and stays nice until August or September. Williamsburg vacations are perfect to take during your summer vacation. This area can be enjoyed by children and adults alike. When traveling with kids, try going for spring break or summer vacation from school. Winter is not a recommended time to go on Williamsburg vacations. Busch Gardens opens near the end of March and closes their gates for most of November, but then opens again during December for those that are traveling during the holidays.
