The city of Salzburg is very particular about preserving its culture and origins. That can be seen when you visit the old town of Salzburg. The city features buildings from the eras of the middle ages, the Renaissance, Romanesque as well as the monarchy. Almost all ages left their mark in Salzburg. The whole view is back dropped by a fortress. This is also the city’s main landmark. It’s hundreds of years old and one of the most well preserved castles in Central Europe. It is highly recommended to take a nearly 20-25 minutes climb up to the fort instead of the elevator because of the great views and sceneries you’ll be getting to see along the way.
