Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare also attracts a lot of tourists. Although a village, the main attraction is the plays performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company. Not far from here, is the Victorian-styled Warwick Castle surrounded by beautiful grounds. In Northern England one will find the city of York, a city with extreme importance, not only historically but geographically and literary as well. A city with many museums, historic buildings and two National parks of its own, this walled city is guaranteed to get the tourists excited at the name of Britain. York also has a beach at the Yorkshire coast and a resort to top it up. If one wants to watch theatre, they can go to Leeds. London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, all these are places that represent the English city life and are perfect for shopping and for enjoying the night life in Britain. With malls, marketplaces, restaurants and bars, these cities tend to give the tourists a break from the intensely cultural, historical and artistic nature of the vacations.
