History
Sea world San Diego was the first one to open in 1964 and was met with huge success. The brain child of 4 former UCLA graduates, the park began to develop with an increase in the number of animal shows, which included dolphins, seals and killer whales (highly trained of course). The success led to the opening of Sea World in other locations such as Orlando and San Antonio which thrilled children and adults alike. Since these adventure parks have thrived, Sea World has been labeled as the ‘Theme Park Mecca of the World’. Sea World vacations offer a variety of fun filled activities. Be it watching a seal, dolphin and killer whale show to the extremes of feeding a live shark. Perhaps the most popular attractions of all is the amazing Shark Encounter. In this ride, the visitors are taken in a tube that is submerged in water into a tank full of sharks. Another ride that is widely talked about is Wild Arctic. This exciting ride is an experience in itself, making you tour a make-belief Arctic in a make-belief helicopter with an almost real experience. Afterwards, the guests can also observe Pacific walruses, beluga whales and polar bears. SeaWorld parks offer a plethora of stimulating rides, that include roller coasters. A famous rollercoaster ride that takes you to Atlantis is present in all three parks located in the US. Sea World is also home to the world famous Shamu, the killer whale. There is also a Discovery Cove, which lets you get up close and personal with dolphins, seals and killer whales.
