Introduction
Literally put, Ppath stands for ‘People Protecting Animals & Their Habitats.’ Animals are important to human’s day to day life as they are part of the larger ecosystem. However, as globalization takes toll and human need for various items in the environment expands, animals as well as the habitat in which they live in have been subject to consistent threats. This basically highlights the importance of coming up with mechanisms to protect animals as well as the habitats in which they live. Ppath is therefore an initiative aimed to protect animals and the environments in which they live from further degradation. Basically, other than its literal meaning, what the organization stands can be further expanded based on its functions.
Animal protection
Animals are constantly endangered and it is no surprise that various species have long gone extinct while others are currently threatened with extinction. Ppath aims to protect the endangered species from extinction by protecting them against illegal poaching activities as well as from predators and conditions that might compromise their existence. This is achieved by taking the animals to secured locations, protecting the habitats in which they live as well as securing the environment in which the threatened species exist. Sometimes, it’s very difficult to do so, because of the lack of funds.
Protection of the animal habitats
Despite the fact that animals are known to adapt to various environments, this is often not easy and at times changing animal habitats can end up compromising their existence. Sadly, in the past, humans have been known to encroach into animal habitats threatening the existence of all animals. Generally, Ppath achieves this noble objective through various ways which include physical protection of endangered species, as well as protection of the animals through provision of healthcare. Once again, due to lack of funds, many species are on the brink of extinction.

This involves taking the endangered and sick animals to secured locations from where they are protected against various things that could threaten their lives including predators and the environment. Such locations are used to allow the endangered species to not only remain protected but also breed and increase in numbers.
Protection of animals against diseases
Like humans, animals are susceptible to diseases. The organization offers treatment to sick and injured animals. This is a tough task that involves identification and tracking of the animals to ensure they are protected against the impact of the diseases they suffer.
Advocacy campaigns
There are campaigns aimed at encouraging the society to protect animals as well as their habitats from the dangers they face. Additionally, such campaigns are aimed at raising funds to help taking care of the animals. The campaigns are done both physically and via the online platforms, which have grown to become a lead media in almost every aspect of life.
