Will Narrowed Veins Cause a Heart Attack?

Introduction

Veins play an extremely valuable part of how a body functions. They are what takes the blood from the heart and pump it through the rest of the body to all of the vital organs. Having narrowed veins can cause significant problems, but there are things that you can do to make them work at full capacity. Your veins are the reason that you have circulation to your toes and brain. When you have narrowed veins, it makes the blood travel slower, and you can feel sluggish. Many people have heard of good and bad cholesterol, but some may not be aware of the damage it can cause to one’s body. Plaque is the build up from fatty foods that you eat.

History

One of the main problems that you will have with narrowed arteries is atherosclerosis, which is a gradual process of plaque building up in the arteries and will cause them to harden. When your arteries are narrowed, the blood does not flow as freely and this causes those parts of your body to not function properly. This can be an ongoing process and takes years before the damage is noticed. Most of this is caused by smoking, eating fatty foods, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol and of course diabetes. The thing that you can do to help your veins and stay healthy is to watch what you eat and change your lifestyle.

Features

Having narrowed arteries have also been shown to cause dementia of the brain from the lack of proper blood flow. It is extremely crucial that people start to pay attention to how they treat their bodies. Abusing your body has been shown to cause many different issues. It is thought that some cancers are caused by how we treat ourselves. If we all started taking better care of ourselves, we would be a better society as a whole. When you look at the history of heart disease, you will notice that back in the 1800’s and 1900’s, there was not as many people dying from heart disease. It is because the world was a simpler back then and we did not have the technology that we do today. While the inventions have been helpful, they have also made people lazy. Most stay indoors and watch television instead of going outside and getting exercise. Most of us drive instead of walking to the store. We are also eating more fast food and most people rarely make a home cooked meal. A change of lifestyle is the best after care once you have been diagnosed with narrowed arteries.
