Introduction

Most people love to travel. Wrinkled clothing, excess baggage fees and overweight bags, packing too much, packing too little, lost luggage, busted shampoo and sunscreen bottles and having to lug it around with you until you reach your destination. None of this is particularly fun but there are ways to pack travel clothing and other items so that a lot of this hassle can be avoided.

Step 1

First of all, you need the right luggage. Make sure your luggage meets the baggage weight standards of the airline that you are traveling if you are flying. Make sure that there are no busted seems and the zippers are functioning properly so that your travel clothing and other items don’t fall out. Make sure your luggage is big enough to hold everything you absolutely need but not too big that you have lots of extra space. If you do plan to shop, make sure you leave some space for any items that you buy.

Step 2

When packing travel clothing, it is best to roll it. Rolling it will reduce wrinkles and create more space. Only pack the clothing that you will need. Do not pack anything extra because you can just wash the travel clothing that you bring if you need something else to wear. Always pack liquids in smaller, travel containers.

Step 3

Although you cannot prevent luggage with your travel clothing and other personal items from getting lost if you choose to check your baggage, there are ways to alleviate the stress associated with this. Always pack your most important items in your carry on when possible. Make sure to have enough travel clothing to last a few days and your most important items in your carry on.

Step 4

Do not leave valuables, including your favorite travel clothing, easily accessible and easily stolen. Make sure your most important items are at the bottom of your suitcase so that it will be too much of a hassle to get to it. Put any extremely valuable items in your carry on.

Step 5

Take as little as possible but make sure you have the things you won’t be able to live without. Make a list of things you need, including travel clothing, and check it off as the items get placed in the suitcase.

Tips and Comments

Packing is not fun but, as you can see, you can make it an easier process for you so that you can focus on what is important and that is getting to your destination and having a good vacation. Traveling is supposed to fun so there is no need to put a damper on your vacation because your luggage or travel clothing got lost or you forgot something. Move on and make the best out of the situation.
