Introduction

If you are planning to join the navy, make sure you have already your checklist on what to bring and wear. Usually, navy uniforms are already provided except for the under shirts, socks, and shoes. You can choose any under shirts and socks that you want but make sure that you choose the best navy shoes. Here are some tips that might help you.

Step 1

Tip 1: Choose true leather

In choosing navy shoes, choosing true leather shoes is better than choosing the synthetic leather ones. True leather shoes are more durable and it usually lasts longer compared to synthetic leather shoes. Since you’re going to be doing heavy duties in the navy, it would be better to choose the more durable one.

Step 2

Tip 2: Look for lightweight shoes

Leather navy shoes are always known to be heavy. However, lightweight leather shoes are now available in the market. Lightweight leather shoes would make you feel more comfortable and would help you move faster as well.

Step 3

Tip 3: Have both black and white shoes

Most of the navy uniform requirements require two different shoe colors, the black and the white. This is because of the type of uniform that they would be wearing. There would be some schedule or some days that you would be required to wear navy blue uniforms and there would be times when you are required to wear the all white navy uniforms. Usually, black navy shoes should be worn with navy blue uniforms and white navy shoes should be worn with all white navy uniforms. You should be able to know the uniform requirements first before purchasing two different shoe colors.

Tips

Tip 4: Make sure it is comfortable

Did you know that shoes may also affect the performance of the person wearing it? You might have some experiences in the past where you are not able to take long walks because you’re no longer comfortable with your shoes.

A navy officer undergoes tough training and also performs daily exercises as well. If you’re not comfortable with your shoes, you may not be able to perform well in your training or even in your daily exercises. Of course you don’t want to be labelled as the weakest link in the group or you wouldn’t want to be always scolded by your head officers, right? This is why choosing comfortable navy shoes are very important because of the activities that you would have to go through.

In choosing and trying on your navy shoes, make sure to get the feel of it by taking it on a walk for a few minutes. It would also be better if you always use it after purchasing just so you would be familiar with the shoes and be more comfortable with it before you use it in your navy duty.

Tip 5: Have at least a half-size bigger

Tight shoes may cause pain and discomfort to the one wearing it. If it is just tolerated, common foot problems may arise such as athlete’s foot, corns, calluses, bunions, blisters, or hammer toes. Leather navy shoes aren’t as flexible as other types of shoes which is why it is important that you get a shoe sizes which is at least a half-size bigger. In choosing and trying on navy shoes, make sure that you are wearing socks, preferably the ones that you are going to use for your uniform. This will help you get a real feel of the shoes.
