Why Have Surgery Face Lift

Introduction

Cosmetic surgery is rarely cheap, and surgery face lift is no exception. Patients can expect to pay thousands of dollars for the surgery and the anesthesia required to perform it. Immediately after surgery face lift, patients can expect to see bruising and swelling on the face. It may take between one to four months for the face to recover from surgery. Patients must sleep with their heads elevated for about two weeks, and can wear cosmetic products on the face about two weeks after the surgery. Ask a doctor about your other daily activities and whether or not these can adversely affect the outcome of your face lift after surgery. After recovery, surgery face lift can offer patients many mental and physical benefits.

Why Have a Face Lift?

Patients may seek surgery face lift after a traumatic accident that did damage to the face, or to remove wrinkles and other signs of aging. Face lift surgery generally makes the patient appear younger and adjusts the contours of the face. Some face lift procedures, such as an upper face lift procedure, target only features at the top part of the face, like the eyelids and cheeks. A lower face lift may contour the jawline for a sleek appearance. Surgeons may sometimes combine a face lift with liposuction on the face to remove excess fat around the neck and jawline. The effects of a facelift can last as long as a decade, while mini face lifts that only target the top or lower portion of the fast can last two to five years. After that point, patients will generally undergo a face lift again to reverse facial aging. Sometimes, surgery face lift may cause complications such as infections. Contact your cosmetic surgeon if signs or symptoms of infection begin to appear.

Cost

One of the largest barriers to obtaining cosmetic procedures is the cost, and surgery face lift is one of the more expensive cosmetic procedures on the market. Patients can expect to pay an average of $7,000 for a face lift, while upper or lower face lift procedures may be significantly cheaper. Patients should expect to pay between $6,000 and $15,000 for a face lift procedure upfront. Post-operative check-ups or follow-up for complications may cost significantly more money. Ask a surgeon ahead of time about possible complications and what you can do to limit complications, such as ceasing smoking before undergoing cosmetic surgery, which can help decrease the overall cost of surgery face lift.

Tips and comments

Ask for a second opinion whenever seeking cosmetic surgery. A doctor that urges you not to seek advice from other physicians is suspect. A second opinion from another cosmetic surgery can help you decide if a face lift is appropriate for you, your budget and your health. Ask about the proper ways to manage pain and reduce swelling and bruising after surgery. Schedule follow-up visits when necessary.

Before undergoing a face lift, ask about other procedures, surgical and otherwise, that may be able to reverse or diminish the signs of aging. These procedures may be far less expensive, although they may not endure for as long a time as a face lift may.
