Introduction

Trade shows are a great way of attracting many different customers under one common roof, giving you the opportunity to showcase your product in the best way possible with maximum exposure. Every day across the country, dozens of trade shows are setup to showcase and present various products and services to customers from all walks of life. The problem with trade show displays is, however, that they can often be very overbearing, and if yours is not good enough, it will be easily overshadowed by surrounding trade show displays, thereby losing your target audience. You must therefore make sure you have followed the correct steps for a successful display.

Step 1

Decide what results you wish to get from your trade show displays and what constraints you have placed upon you. Your agenda can be to sell a product, get exposure for a certain company or else advocate a certain cause. Whatever your agenda may be trade show displays are limited by factors such as space, location, audience turnout and other restrictions that may be placed by the organizers. Know the audience that is expected to turn up, so you can plan your display accordingly. It is also helpful to ask the organizers beforehand what facilities will be provided to you, that is will there be electricity outlets, tables and clipboards provided, etc. The time spent in planning will be saved twice as much in execution.

Step 2

Once you have figured out the desired outcomes you wish to aim for and the constraints that will be placed on you, you need to start planning out the executions. The one most important thing for trade show displays to consider is how to attract audience and stand out from the other displays. This can be decided once your audience is known. In a technical environment, having a physical product on display is likely to attract customers. In children-based shows, big colorful displays with a mascot are often more attractive. Attracting an audience is the most primary step to success and once you know your audience you can know what attracts them.

Step 3

Trade show displays have very limited space in which to showcase the best of a certain company or agenda. This space is limited, not only physically, but also in terms of time, so you need to make sure that you sell your product or get your point across in a way that wastes no time.

Step 4

If you feel a video demonstration is the best way of doing that, prepare a video in advance. Samples and technical demonstrations are also an excellent way to showcase a product.

Step 5

Give your audience something to take home. This will allow them to remember you better and also gives you an opportunity to give them a more in-depth view into your company profile. Remember, the most attractive trade show displays are those that have something to give away to their audience.

Conclusion

If executed correctly, trade show displays are an excellent way to attract a large number of people specifically from your target demographic. Trade show displays can be customized to suit your needs exactly as your company sees fit and can bring in highly profitable results if utilized to the maximum.
