What You Should Know About Midway Airport Chicago

Introduction

Chicago Midway International Airport is the second largest airport in the city of Chicago. It is located 10 miles from downtown Chicago, Illinois, and borders to the suburbs of Burbank and Clearing. The Chicago Midway airport is a bustling and busy. Midway is used by millions each year, with 18.9 million passengers in 2011 alone. Due to its large size and tendency to be quite busy, it's important that potential travelers or visitors to Chicago Midway Airport know a little bit about the website and its numerous facilities and services. 

History

The Chicago Midway Airport has a passenger terminal that has three terminals: A, B, and C.  The numerous airlines that this airport serves are disturbed among these three terminals. 

Terminal A: AirTran Airways Airlines, FL, Branson Air Express, Delta Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Porter Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Volaris Airlines and Southwest Airlines. Terminal B: Southwest Airlines. Chicago Midway Airport has numerous amenities and services that are located around the airport. These services and amenities are put into the airport for the convenience and comfort of the traveler. 

  • Baggage Carts / Skycap: Baggage carts are located at the entrances and exits and in the Baggage Claim area. Skycap services are implement throughout the airport.
  • Banking / ATM Services: Located around the terminal regions and concourses. 
  • Power Stations: Located around the terminals of the Chicago Midway airport there are seated workstations. These seated work stations have  counter space and AC outlets that allow travelers to recharge  laptops, cellphones, Blackberrys and .mp3 players free of charge.
  • Medical Facilities are located  in several locations around the airport in clear view for all the travelers.
  • Travelers and Immigrants Aid office: This is a venue in which travelers who require assistance can acquire it. This helpful service is located on the upper floor of the terminal. The office is open from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
  • Mailboxes are scattered around the Chicago Midway airport.

 

 

Features

If you become hungry while at Chicago Midway airport there are many tasty and fresh food/beverages to indulge in. The eateries are located in the different concourses, so we have arranged them in accordance to their location.

Terminal A: Dot-Com Cafe is a deli/bakery type establishment located after Security. Halsted St. Tap is a relaxed sports bar where travelers can come and have a cold drink. Manny's is the ideal place to to eat and unwind after your travels. They serve delicious  breakfast, lunch and dinner with traditional and homely flavours. Below we have listed some of the menu so you can get an idea of the type of food available at this restaurant.

  • Breakfast: 3 However,termilk Pancakes which can come with a variety of sides such as bacon, turkey bacon or sausage or a ham steak. Matzo Brie, Breakfast Reuben, or you could even create your own unique Omelet from a variety of different fresh ingredients ( bacon, sausage, ham, corned beef, pastrami, salami, turkey, turkey bacon, American, cheddar, Swiss, provolone, jack, blue to only name a few).
  • Lunch: Beef Stew, Meat Loaf, Turkey Focaccia Sandwich, Veggie Burger, Tuna Salad or Chicken Salad sandwich or Chicken Breast Caesar salad. Additional to the cemented menu they have daily specials, such as Thursday there is Ox Tail Stew or for the more adventurous Tongue with Mushroom and on Saturday there is Meat Loaf with Spaghetti or Turkey Chili.
  • Dinner: Turkey Pastrami Sandwich, Baked Salmon, Turkey Meatloaf, or Large Plain Salad with Roll.
  • Dessert: Cookies, assorted Cakes and Pies, Grapefruit or Eli's Cheese Cake.

The remaining eateries at concourse A are Stefani's Tuscany Cafe, and McDonald's. Terminal B has Miller's Pub (Sports bar), Oak Street Beach Cafe, Manny's Express, Sprigs, Taylor Street Market  and Red Mango. 

Tips and comments

No animals are permitted inside the Chicago Midway airport unless it is being used to assist disabled people, or are in proper pet carriers. Midway is a smoke-free environment.
