Step 1

If you are going by car, take I-95, and follow the instructions given below, depending on which direction you are going:
If you are travelling north to North Myrtle Beach, South California, take Exit 170 towards Highway 327. Drive towards your right for almost 5 miles, to reach the second stop light. On Highway 501, take a left towards North Myrtle Beach, and continue on this highway through Aynor, South California. Then take the Highway 22 through the North Myrtle Beach exit. Highway 22 will merge into Highway 17. You will come to an exit on towards the left on Highway 17, and on taking that and travelling along for about a mile, you will see the North Myrtle Beach sign welcoming you.

Step 2

If you are travelling south to get to North Myrtle Beach, take Exit 81 B – Interstate 40 East. Then, you have to take Exit 416-140 West. Next come 421 South and 17 South.

Step 3

If you want to travel by train, North Myrtle Beach is served by the Waccamaw Coastline Railroad rail line.

Step 4

If you are travelling by air, there are plenty of airlines that will take you to North Myrtle Beach. The airports in the North Myrtle Beach area are:

Huffman Helicopters is a privately owned helicopter faciity that provides tours of Myrtle Beach and the surrounding areas.

Things to do

Once you do get to North Myrtle Beach, there are plenty of way to spend your time there.

This city houses the world's largest reptile park, Alligator Adventure. You can see many alligators there, from little babies to giant ones, and even some rare albino ones. The park also houses exotic birds, komodo dragons, birds, snakes, tortoises etc. Kids seem to especially like this place.

Barefoot Landing is another place that has something to be enjoyed by everyone. You can shop to your heart's content at many many factory-direct stores and speciality shops, while enjoying the scenic view of a lake. There are restaurants that cater to all sorts of taste, and seven entertainment venues.
For those who are fond of fishing and the outdoors, there is the Cherry Grove Fishing Pier. It extends 985 feet into the Atlantic Ocean and is good for both amateur and serious fishing enthusiasts. This happens to be the spot where the biggest tiger shark was caught.

The Flea Market could be another attraction. There are plenty of shops there, and you will be able to find some good deals – as long as you don't hesitate in browsing around and being adventurous. It is open throughout the year.
