Introduction

Sometimes we may buy tickets for a special event such as a concert, play, sports event or musical that we just can't seem to make. Maybe there is an emergency or maybe you just can't find a babysitter for your children. Whatever the case may be, there are a couple common ways that you can put your tickets for sale, in hopes that someone else may buy them and you won't be left with the financial burden of paying for something you're not even able to attend.

Step 1

Check out bidding sites like Ebay. Ebay is one of the best online marketplaces around. You can put your tickets for sale on this awesome bidding site. All you need to do is sign up for a seller's account and follow the directions on-screen on the official Ebay site. You then can list your tickets for sale, along with the price, the location and other pertinent information. If you're lucky, you just may find a buyer who will put your tickets to good use.

Step 2

Try the online classifieds and want -ad's. Many people are dying to get to that concert or play you have tickets for. With online classifieds and want ad's, you can simply put up a post and see who bites. Most online classified ad's and want ad's are free to post on, so you won't be draining your pocket to advertise on the site. When listing your tickets for sale, make sure you make it clear in your ad that you will not ship the tickets as you will want to meet face to face with this person so you can ensure you're getting paid for the tickets.

Step 3

Ask around. Sometimes co workers, school classmates, family or friends will simply buy your tickets off you. This way is probably one the easiest ways to put your tickets for sale as it does not require a whole lot of research and/or running around trying to sell the tickets. Especially if the event is close to home, you may have people who you already know who are interested in your tickets for sale.

Step 4

Give away the tickets for free. This does not require you putting your tickets for sale. However, think about this for a second. If there is a birthday coming up in your family or a birthday coming up in your circle of friends, you can simply give the tickets to the birthday boy or girl as their birthday gift. In a way, it works out great as the gift is taken care of and you will not need to spend extra money on a birthday gift to the person.

Step 5

Ticket Brokers: Ticket brokers are sometimes sketchy but if it's your last resort to get rid of the tickets then it may be the only option left. You can look in your Yellow Pages and call some local ticket brokers. Most of them will surely buy your tickets, however be careful as sometimes they will buy the tickets from you at a very cheap price and then mark them up to sell them to someone else.

Tips

Always be careful when putting tickets for sale as some people will want to rip you off or simply just steal the tickets from you. When it comes to Ebay and online classifieds, it's always better to make sure the tickets are completely paid for before giving them or shipping them out to the buyer.

Comments

When having tickets for sale, make sure you're not known as a ticket scalper as it is an illegal activity. Ticket scalpers stand outside stadiums and venues and try to sell extra tickets to a sold out event. Ticket scalping is practical supply and demand but it's often looked down upon by society and by the law.
