Introduction

Event tickets can be purchased from a variety of places. Depending on the type of event your want to attend, you may be able to buy them online or over the phone from venue ticket offices. When shopping for event tickets, compare the prices and fees of several different companies to make sure you are getting the best seats for your money.

Step 1

Purchase event tickets from a vendor such as Ticket Master or Tickets.com. Simply search for the event by name or click on the city, state or venue where the event will be hosted. Find the date of the event and choose the time you want to attend. Many events will have more than one time and date, and you will need to choose which one you want to purchase event tickets for. Some vendors will display a seating chart and allow you to click on the seats where you want to sit. Add the appropriate number of event tickets to your shopping cart and begin the checkout process. Create an account or sign in to your existing account. Enter your billing and shipping addresses as well as your email address. Enter your credit card information into the appropriate boxes and double-check your order before confirming your purchase. Choose how you want to receive your event tickets. You can choose to print them from your computer, pick them up at the event venue office or have them sent to your home. If you choose to have them sent to your home, check the shipping time to make sure they have time to arrive before the day of the event. Print the receipt and keep it for your records. If you chose to print your tickets, follow the directions at the end of the checkout process. Store both your tickets and receipt in a safe place until the day of the event.

Step 2

Purchase event tickets directly form the event venue. Most venue have ticket offices where you can call or visit to order your event tickets. Contact the ticket office and speak to an operator about the event you would like to attend. Ask any questions you may have such as the date, time of the event and price of the tickets. Order your event tickets by providing the operator with your credit card number. Give the operator your address and choose if you would like to have the event tickets mailed to your home or if you would like to pick them up at the ticket office. Be sure to ask about pickup times and provide the name of the person who will be claiming the tickets. You may be required to show an ID when you claim your tickets. Write down the purchase confirmation number and keep it in a safe place.

Step 3

Check websites such a eBay or Craigslist or individuals who are selling unwanted or extra event tickets. If the event you wish to attend is sold out, you may be able to find tickets on these sites. Tickets purchased from individuals may also be cheaper than those purchased from ticket vendors and venue ticket offices. Meet with the seller in person to exchange money and tickets and be sure the tickets are authentic before purchasing them. Beware of scams and fake tickets, as many people try to sell these items online.

Tips

Pay close attention to television commericals and radio ads to stay up-to-date on the events and the day that tickets go on sale.
