"The Notebook" is a romantic drama that was released in 2004 by New Line Cinema and the film is approximately 123 minutes longg or 2 hours and 3 minutes. It was directed by film director Nick Cassavetes. "The Notebook" was based on a Nicholas Sparks novel with the same name. The actors that starred in the notebook are Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling. They play a young couple that met each other in the 1940s and they both fall in love. James Garner and Gena Rowlands pay the older actors that starred in the notebook. "The Notebook" was a commercially acclaimed film that made over $100 million in the box office. Many critics had mixed reviews of the film, but overall, the film was a success. The actors that starred in the notebook have interesting lives and fascinating film careers.

Young Noah & Allie

Ryan Gosling. Gosling played Noah Calhoun in the notebook. Gosling is a Canadian actor and recording artist. Ryan Gosling was a child star and an independent film star before he became one of the actors that starred in the notebook. Gosling was born in Ontario, Canada and he began to have a love for films when he was bullied through public school. He fell in love with the movie "Rambo: First Blood" and he began bringing knives to school and he began to throw them at kids during recess. An unknown fact about one of the actors that starred in the notebook is that he could not read. He dropped out of high school to pursue a career in acting. Ryan Gosling was a member of the Mickey Mouse Club in 1993 until the shows cancellation in 1995. Gosling began to appear on other children's shows like "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" Gosling did not gain recognition until he starred in the notebook opposite of Rachel McAdams. Rachel McAdams is one of the actors that starred in the notebook as one of the main characters. McAdams is also a Canadian actress. Rachel McAdams had her breakout screen role in 2004 with the highly successful teen comedy "Mean Girls." Her role in "Mean Girls" gave her the chance to audition in the notebook to play as one of the main characters, Allie Hamilton.

Older Noah & Allie

James Garner played the older Noah Calhoun. James Garner appeared in several television shows in the 1950s and 1960s, such as "Maverick" and "the Rockford Files." James Garner's career spans over five decades. James Garner has appeared in over 70 films since 1956. Garner is not only an actor, but a politican, golfer, and a racer. Garner is heavily involved in the Democratic party. Gena Rowlands plays the older Allie Hamilton-Calhoun in the notebook. Rowlands is the mother if the notebook's film director, Nick Cassavetes. Rowlands began her film career in 1958 in the film "the High Cost of Living." Rowlands was married to film director and actor John Cassavetes and they appeared in ten films together. Gena Rowlands received a Satellite Award for her supporting actress role in the notebook.
