Introduction

Many times, people who want to buy a computer are in balance, choose desktop or notebooks computers? Between the two devices can not be made a comparison, each having advantages and disadvantages in relation to personal needs. Each addresses a different category of people with different needs. Some want to be mobile, others computing power. Some want graphic stations, others want to use the Internet or a text editor. There are people only interested in games and there are people who want to turn a computer into a multimedia tool. In the price category, again you can not talk about a comparison. Mobility of notebooks computers, vital for those who travel often or whose job involves regular access to the Internet or in a text editor, is very expensive.

History

Often, the user pays more than double for notebooks computers with a similar configuration to a desktop. Even if the price difference them will reduce, notebooks computers remain expensive compared to desktops.
Differences at a glance:
In general, desktop and notebooks computers are quite similar. Both have the same basic components, software and operating systems. Primary difference is the way components are interconnected because the difference of space. A desktop system includes a motherboard, video card, a data storage unit (hard drive) and other components, all in a box-shaped metal case. Monitor, keyboard, mouse and other peripherals are connected to cable or radio, without requiring cables (wireless). Whether it is a vertical or horizontal cabinet, there is enough space for all the parts of the
system, for cable and to allow air circulation.

Features

The notebooks computers size and weight are much lower than even the most compact PC case. Instead of a large box with plenty of room for air circulation, the notebooks computers are using a flat design, miniature, in which all components are created so as they occupy as little space as possible and come together perfectly. Because of this fundamental difference of design, which aims for portability, it's components must fit in a space-saving, compact, case. They must conserve energy and produce less heat than desktop components. Often, these differences lead to much higher prices for components, which make the price of notebooks computers to be higher than that of a desktop. To illustrate the difference in price between desktop and notebooks computers, we try to compare two such systems with a similar configuration. The performance of a desktop system is generally higher for the reasons above.

Tips and comments

In conclusion when we buy we got to think first and decide for what we want the desktop or notebooks computers use. If we need it for writing or office programs and we travel a lot then a notebook will be perfect. If we need computing power and we work with graphics, movie editing or other programs that use a lot of graphic card memory we will want a desktop. Also we need to think about the price. If tour budget is not too thin and you want mobility then you should buy a notebook, but if you budget is small and you don t need to travel much the desktop computer is a much better choice.
