The Xbox is the sixth generation video game console manufactured by Microsoft. It was released on November 15, 2001. It was Microsoft's first foray into the gaming console market and competed with Sony's PlayStation 2, Sega's Dreamcast, and Nintendo's GameCube. The integrated Xbox live service was launched in November 2002 which allowed the users to play online with each other. Xbox 360 is the latest product of systems xbox and is one of the best game consoles on the market.
Playing games on the Xbox systems can be a lot of fun and enjoyment but once we talk about connecting it with your personal computer it can become quite a big problem. People are not aware of the device they are using and even a small problem can cause a great deal of trouble. Everybody knows that connecting the Xbox systems to a personal computer requires Windows media connect software, but most people install the Windows media connect software but are unable to connect to the PC. This is because the Windows media connect software cant get past the Windows OneCare firewall unless you open the port manually.
Before installing the Windows media connect on Xbox systems, be sure that the ports are open or the software will not find the Xbox systems on the network. This is how we open the ports. We open Windows OneCare, click on view or change settings on the left side of the screen.
Click the firewall tab and make sure that the selection bar is set in the middle position or Auto" (recommended). Click the advanced settings. button and the open ports and protocols&rdquo. tab, then click on add and name the first port as Systens Xbox 1, choose TCP and make the port range 2869 and 2869.
Make sure that the scope is the only local network and click Ok In the same manner we open the TCP port 10243 and call it Systems Xbox 2. The rest of the ports are UDP ports not TCP. Open ports 1900, 10280, 10281, 10282, 10283 and name them Xbox 3, Xbox 4 and more. When we are done, we close all OneCare opened Windows and install the Windows Media Connect Software.
The important point is that we setup IPs manually so that each systems Xbox has a unique address. The second thing we should make sure is that Windows firewall is disabled.
The window firewall block the inbound traffic that means that the Windows media center is able to ask the 360 if it would like to communicate, but the Xbox systems would not be able to respond. One last thing we might not be able to detect the Xbox on our first go round after the install, this is because the first time it takes a while to kick off as it scans the HDs for media to share. Once the Xbox pop up in the device list when you power it on just click on Allow Everything is done and once the personal computers are connected to the Xbox the user can sit back and enjoy.
The latest release of the Microsoft is the Xbox 360. Along with systems Xbox Live features of online gaming, Xbox 360 allows downloading, movies and the Windows media center multimedia capabilities.
