Introduction

Some workplaces are hazardous and lots of precautions are needed. For example, people working in under construction buildings, or laboratories and research facilities, near nuclear reactors, factories and many other places, the work itself needs a lot of care in handling of instruments or chemicals and more. However, most of the office jobs and business facilities no such threats and are totally safe. In these areas especially, the workers are more relaxed and if any environmental health and safety problem poses itself and gets ignored, such behavior can lead to grave problems with serious outcomes.

In order to regulate proper use of precautions and safety measures in all kind of workplaces, there is a special department formed by the government known as the environment health and safety department that ensure the safety of the environment from injurious elements and the people living all around us. It is this environmental health and safety facility that makes sure to prevent accidents and mishaps in workplaces, public places and every such place that is allowed by the legislature. They spread awareness about keeping the environment safe and healthy along with the safety measures and precautions that should be used in hazardous situations.

Though it is the responsibility of the environmental health and safety facility keep everyone safe but that does not mean that we do not have a duty in this regulation of safety as well. As a part of the society, it is a everyone's duty to keep their surrounding safe and proper and if they see anything or anyone disrupting these safety precautions or forming obstacles in the route to safety then it is our duty to report it. In this case the reports are to be given to the environmental health &facility so that they can perform measures to the correct the problem. The environmental health and safety workers will ensure that this problem does not occur again, along with rectifying it.

Taking all the precautions at your workplace as well can result in you getting injured. It may be because of any reason but the duty of the injured person is to make sure that the injury has been reported. Even if it is a small injury the report of it is very essential. One may think that such a small injury does not need to be reported while this is absolutely wrong behavior. This is because of two reasons.

Whether minor or major, the presence of an injury tells that there has been something that has remained unplanned because of which this injury took place. Later this injury can become major as well for some other person, if the progressed this way. The second reason for reporting any problems to the environmental health and safety authority is to record them in the workers' compensation purposes. The injury may not hurt that much now, but may become worse later. By reporting it, you'll be creating a proof that the injury took place at the workplace and therefore should be compensated.
