Introduction

There are many guitar players that sing with only the help of a guitar pick. From time to time we have to forget about the guitar pick and use our fingers to pinch more strings at the same time. So let’s begin the beautiful road of learning to play the guitar. It is hard to learn to play the guitar in one month but with a lot of practice you should be able to do it, at least master the basics. Before we begin we must have a guitar, a guitar pick is recommended but not necessary, patience and will. Remember that some people may be more talented and they will learn to play the guitar in a shorter time.

Step 1

First of all, we need a guitar in our hands. You may laugh but many people have no connection with this instrument and they don’t know how to make a difference between guitars. So we have two basic types of guitars, acoustic which are recognized by the presence of the resonance box, and electric. Acoustic guitars are divided in two groups: classic, which has plastic strings, and western, which has steel cords.

Step 2

The second thing we need is guitar pick, for beginners a medium guitar pick is best.
As mentioned in the introduction, patience and will are required when attempting to learn the guitar in a short period of time. You are going to need patience because it’s not going to sound pretty at first. You are going to need will because sometimes your fingers might hurt and you might think about abandoning. You have to believe in yourself and have the strength to carry on. Only 15 minutes per day of practice and you will start to see the results in no time. In general 15 minutes of practice per day are better then 1 hour at 4 days.
Musical notes are ways of representation for sounds, so that two musicians can understand each other.
There are 7 notes: C, D, E, F, G, A, B.

Step 3

Maybe you have always wondered what an octave is. An octave is the interval between one pitch and another with half or double its frequency. An octave represents the material from with sounds are emitted. An accord will always be composed from sounds of an octave.
When you are learning this basics try to take things slow because in this stage of your training accuracy not speed is important. It is also important that the sound is very clear, in time accords will sound better and better. After you have mastered this basics you can move on to other things that may be harder but remember that patience and will are very important for you if you want to learn to play the guitar in a short amount of time.

Tips

Playing the guitar is very entertaining and fun. Remember that all it takes for you to learn how to play the guitar in a month is patience and will.
