Introduction
Hudson is a city located along the west border of Columbia County, New York, United States. The city is named after the adjacent Hudson River and ultimately after the explorer Henry Hudson. Hudson is also famous for different number of movies have been filmed there, movies like The Wonder Years, Odds Against Tomorrow, Ironweed etc. Hudson is also largely known for its beautiful natural scenery and the world famous Hudson River. History
The land for the city that we know as Hudson today was purchased in the 1662 and was previously known as part of Town of Claverack, formerly it was known as ‘Claverack Landing.’ Hudson was chartered as a city in 1785. Hudson in the early ages grew rapidly as a port coming with one of the being named for the capital of New York State. This started attracting the people towards the city itself and Hudson started growing rapidly by 1970 and soon became the 24th largest city of the United States. Similarly people kept visiting Hudson and started settling there and by the year 1820 Hudson had seemed to become the 4th largest city in New York State.
