A coffee pot or a newer housewares appliances such as a keurig goes great on a counter too. A blast from the past would include a nice hot air popcorn popper.

The other housewares appliances would be things such a dvd player, a television, an mp3 player, a digital camera, a gps for the car or a home desktop computer. A notebook computer would fall in these lines as well. Many of these things are considered luxury housewares appliances. This means they are used for fun.
