Another great thing about New York City is that it has various museums that display world famous works of art. If you love architecture, then you will obviously love New York as you will be able to visit famous landmark buildings, such as the St. Patrick's Church, the Empire State Building, and also the Brooklyn Bridge.
If you are the type of person who loves sports, then New York will be able to offer it to you. If you can get to New York between August 31 and September 13, then you will be able to have a chance to witness some of the most spectacular tennis from some of the best players in the world. The US Open is held in New York and this Grand Slam event can truly be exciting to participate or watch in.
If you had enough of the urban jungle, then you can simply head off to the Central Park. Or, you can also try going to the Niagara Falls State Park where you will be able to watch the spectacular Niagara Falls.
If you are the type of person who is in to all things military, then you may want to stop by at the West Point Military Academy. This is the oldest service academy in the nation and you will be able to visit the West Point Museum where it is open to the general public. Here, you will be able to learn all things about the US military as well as take a look at some of the oldest and largest diversified public collection of the military in the US.

New York is also a fantastic place to go skiing. You can try going to the Adirondacks, Central Leatherstocking/Greater Niagara, and Catskills to test your skills in the slopes.
The Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site is also a fantastic place to go to. You will be able to take a tour inside the mansion and its grounds and truly experience of the breathtaking views of the distant Catskill Mountains, and the Hudson River.
As you can see, New York will be able to offer you whatever it is that you are looking for in a vacation. All year long, you can be sure that there will be plenty of things that you can do in New York.
