Changing the graphic settings is another option. Right-click on "My Computer," then "Properties." Choose "Advanced System Settings" and click on the "Advanced" tab. Click on the "Visual Effects" table and then on "Adjust for best performance." Choose "Apply" then "OK.

If neither of the above steps enhance your laptop graphics, you may want to purchase a new graphics card. Have a computer professional replace the laptop graphics card to make sure proper installation. Few things are more frustrating for a computer user than when their laptop graphics card fails to live up to their expectations. Slow laptop graphics is obviously a problem for gamers, but it can also hamper business applications and graphics arts work. There are, fortunately, many ways to fix the problem of slow laptop graphics.

Stop all unnecessary programs running on your computer, including background processes such as instant messaging programs. Laptop graphics may be affected by something as simple as extra software bogging down the system. Reinstall or update your laptop graphics card driver software. If the fan is not moving, the card may be overheating, which will slow down the cards performance or inevitably render it useless. Blowing out the dust may solve the problem. if this doesn't work or the card has no fan, you might need to replace the card with a new one.

If you are updating the driver, you can do this within the computer system. If you are replacing or updating the actual graphics card, you must access the inside of the unit.
