Introduction

A Canon printer all-in-one is the perfect product that will provide you with the function of many devices in one. All-in-one printers may come with a variety of different features. In most cases, a Canon printer all-in-one includes a photo printer that allows you to print high quality photos, a scanner, a copier, and a fax machine.

Depending on your all-in-one device, you may be able to work wirelessly or have to connect your printer to a computer in your home. Instead of owning several products that have only one of these functions, a Canon printer all-in-one will save you space and money.

Step 1

You must first install your Canon printer all-in-one to work with your computer. This can be installed in your home, office, or wherever you choose to use the printer. Start by plugging the power cord into the all-in-one printer and then into a wall outlet. There should then be another wire that will connect from the printer to the computer. If this is a wireless Canon all-in-one printer, there may be no need to connect it to you computer.

Step 2

Insert the installation disc into your computer and run the setup process. This usually will only take a few minutes. The installation will download the necessary drivers that the printer needs to run with your computer. Once the installation is complete, you will see your printer listed when you view printers and devices in your computer's control panel.

Step 3

Print out a test page from your computer to your printer. This will make sure that everything is aligned and that printing is working properly. You can now begin to print photos and documents from your Canon printer all-in-one device. To print a document, simply click print on the page that you're working on, select the number of pages that you would like to print, the correct size, and ensure that you Canon printer all-in-one is selected as the default device. If your printer is not selected as the default device, the document or photo will not print.

Step 4

Another feature that you may want to use on your Canon printer all-in-one, is the scanning feature. If you have a photograph or document that you would like to get onto your computer, scanning is the easiest option. Place the paper in the scanner and close the lid. Click on the scan button and wait for it to heat up. The machine will then begin to scan your document and save it to your computer in the size that you are chosen.

Step 5

A Canon printer all-in-one also has the ability to fax. Faxing is a great feature to have if your printer is in an office building, you work from home, or just need to fax once in a while. Make sure that the printer is plugged in to telephone jack and insert the paper that you would like to fax. Enter the fax number, hit send, and wait for your document to finish sending. Faxing may take a couple of attempts to reach it's destination, so do not cancel before it completes the process.

Tips

Choose a Canon printer all-in-one with features that will work for you. If you do not need all of the extra bells and whistles, a simple all-in-one device would be a great, affordable option.
