This new development is fairly new in terms of how long it has been around but it took off as soon as it was available and it still thriving. I’m talking about email of course. Anyone can get email it usually does not cost a cent to sign up. Email can be used any time of day and messages are sent instantly. Below are some tips on how to setup email address if you do not already have one.

Step 1

First of all, in order to setup email, you need to have a working computer that is hooked up to the internet.

Open the browser that you normally use and do a search for “email providers” and sort through and research the results. Each email provider has something unique to offer besides the basic sending and receiving of messages so be sure to search for one that has all the features that you would like in email.

Once you decide on which email you would like to go with, you are ready to setup email account. Go to the provider’s homepage and follow the instructions to setup email. There should be a tab or button that says something like “sign up here”. During the sign up, you will be asked to provide basic information such as your name, address and phone number. You will also be asked to create a user name and password which you will use every time you sign into your email account.

Step 4

After you provide your personal information for the email setup, you will be asked to choose your settings for email setup and privacy. You can hide certain things so no one can see it or have it set so that everyone can see it when you send them email. You can add signatures to each email you send. Most importantly, you can create alerts so that you will be notified when someone tries to hack into your account without your permission. When you choose your password, make sure to make it something that you can remember but will hard for anyone else to figure out.

Step 5

Confirm your email set up and give your new email address to everyone you know so they can start sending you mail.  Now you see that the whole process of email setupis quite easy and fast.  You can sign for more than one email setup acount as well as long as you use a differnet user name.  Some people like to setup email accounts for various reasons and have one for work and one for home.
