History

The Walt Disney World Resort property is located in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The first of the parks to open was the Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971. Along with the Magic Kingdom, Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Polynesian Resort first opened their doors to guests as well. The dream of Disney was to create a family friendly vacation destination that adults and children could both enjoy. Over the years, the Walt Disney World Resort continued to grow, adding in three more theme parks and many additional resorts. When on Disney World Resort vacations, there are so many fun things to do that you may not even know where to start. During the day, you may want to check out the Disney theme parks. These are the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. Disney is also home to two water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, the perfect place to cool off during those scorching hot Florida summer days.

Make sure to come back at night for the Wishes Fireworks, where you will also see Tinkerbell take flight.

Epcot is home to innoventions and the latest in technology. Three of the most fun rides are located at this park and they are Mission Space, Test Track, and Soarin. In Soarin, you will really feel like your are gliding above famous landmarks and places in California.

Hollywood Studios includes fun attactions like Toy Story Mania, The Tower of Terror, and Aerosmith's Rockin Roller Coaster.

The Animal Kingdom is a must-do for any wildlife fan. Take a tour of the savannah on Kilamajaro Safai and ride with the dinosaurs on Dinosaur, a high thrill ride.
