Compaq
A Compaq brand laptop is also another alternative to higher priced computers. Compaq computers, such as the Mini Netbook, can be found for a price as low as $400. The same rules apply to Compaq brand laptops as to Acer in that you will likely use these type of laptops as word processors or to get on the Internet. They are great computers for people that aren't looking to due any intensive processes that require upgraded hardware and software.

There is also the option of buying a refurbished laptop and geting a great deal. In this case, you can get a high-end laptops for hundreds less than what they originally sold for. Look to computer stores that sell these type of laptops and see what they have to offer. A sales associate should be able to help you find the best deal for your money and needs. Buying a service plan for these computers is also a good idea because unexpected occurrences may still happen.
A good strategy is to research what brand laptop and specifications you are looking for and this will make your shopping experience much easier. Then you can either go to the store and buy the laptop you need or tell the salesperson what you need and they can direct you to the best deal.
