How To Build a Disney House

If you are a huge Disney fan, you can bring the magic home and build your very own Disney house. A Disney house can be built and designed just how you want it, with Disney movie themes, color schemes, furnishings, and so much more. Whether you are building your Disney house from the ground up, or choose to renovate your current home, there is so much that you can do with it to make it perfectly Disney in all areas of your home. By building this type of home, you can enjoy Disney every day without even having to visit the theme parks.

Step 1

When building a Disney house, you will need to decide what overall theme you are going to go with. A general Disney theme for your house could consist of Mickey Mouse designs and Disney colors. If you want to go with something a little bit different, try giving each bedroom in your home a different Disney movie theme, such as a little boy's room with a Cars theme and a little girl's room as a Disney princess theme. You can purchase speciality beds for your Disney house that go with the theme, like a Car shaped bed and princess bed shaped like a horse and carriage.

Talk to the builders that are building your home to let them know that you want a Disney house. The builders may be able to implement certain architecture designs into the home that will make it feel more Disney-like. Add hidden Mickeys into your Disney home. Hidden Mickeys can be found all around the Walt Disney World Resort property. Some hidden Mickeys can be found on posters in The Great Movie Ride at Hollywood Studios, and in carpet designs at a few of the hotel resorts. In your Disney home, add a few of these hidden Mickeys into your carpet, in photographs, and wherever you'd like around the house.

Step 4

A Disney house can also be a renovation from your current home. There is no need to re-build your home to give it a Disney-feel if you don't want to. Add different accessories throughout your house, such as a Mickey Mouse tea kettle, kitchen towls, pot holders, pictures, rugs, and more that you can purchase at a Disney Store or online. Then give your walls a splash of color by using Disney Color by Behr paint that can be purchased at stores like Lowe's and Home Depot.

Step 5

Paint designs on the walls to liven up the bedrooms in your Disney house. For example, if you have a Buzz Lightyear-themed room, you can paint the walls a dark blue color with planets and stars. With something like a Tinkerbell theme, try painting the walls a light green with dark green leaves and flowers throughout. A little paint can go a long way when you are decorating and building your Disney house.
