How To Make Card Payments


Card payments are simple in today's world of high tech which includes easy connection to the internet or even by phone. The internet is the quickest and surest way to make sure the payment gets to the creditor on time. This will prevent late fees that may affect your credit in the future. First take a look at your bill to determine your current and past amount of card payments. This will let you know if you have paid correctly in the past and if the payments have been posted correctly. You should take care of any difference before making your next payment. Make any card payments by locating the creditor’s website address on the bill. This is normally located next to the phone number and around the amount due or in a how to make a payment area of the bill.

Next type the web address in your browser’s window and then press the enter key on your keyboard.

Once the website has loaded into your browser you will need to enter your user ID and password. If this is the first time you have paid online you will have to create a user’s account. Click the “new user” or “create an account” button that is normally under the password section of the form. Fill out the new account information and then hit enter. Be sure to keep your password in a safe location for future reference.


Step 3

When logged in click on the pay my bill link. Make sure it is the correct account number and the correct amount due. Hit enter on your keyboard.

Your online statement will contain choices of how to make card payments online. These will include using a debit or credit card or a payment from your bank account. Choose the credit card company you have such as Visa or MasterCard.

Step 4

Then choose the amount you would like to pay. Choices normally include: "Current Amount Due," "Total Balance Due" or "Different Amount." Click on the radio button to select and enter a different amount if needed. Press the enter key on your keyboard to complete the process and enter your payment.

Step 5

Your credit card payments information should appear to let you know it was accepted and when it will be posted. There should also be a reference number for your documents and proof you made the payment. You might receive an email with the information or you could print the page for your records. Keep the information in a safe location in case you need it in the future.


Making card payments online is fast and simple and you should always make credit card payments on time since even forgetting to make one payment can damage your credit.
